Biography
Lily Tomlin is an American actress and comedian. Born Mary Jean Tomlin on 1 September 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, she began her career in television on the variety show Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In in the late 1960s.
She made her film debut in Robert Altman’s Nashville (1975) and later appeared in his ensemble drama Short Cuts (1993) as waitress Doreen Piggot. Other film roles include The Late Show (1977), 9 to 5 (1980) and All of Me (1984). She has also worked extensively in voice roles and on television series.
