Biography
LisaGay Hamilton is an American actress known for work in film, television and theatre. Born on 25 March 1964 in Los Angeles, she trained at Carnegie Mellon University, New York University and the Juilliard School.
She played Rebecca Washington on the legal drama The Practice (1997–2003) and appeared in films including Twelve Monkeys (1995), Jackie Brown (1997) as Sheronda, Beloved (1998), Beautiful Boy (2018) and Vice (2018). Stage credits include productions of August Wilson plays and The Ohio State Murders. She directed the documentary Beah: A Black Woman Speaks (2003), for which she received a Peabody Award. Recent roles include Dr. Weller in The Boogeyman (2023).
