Biography
Mario Van Peebles is an American actor and director. Born on 15 January 1957 in Mexico City, Mexico, he is the son of filmmaker Melvin Van Peebles.
He graduated from Columbia University and began acting in his father's films before appearing in Heartbreak Ridge (1986). His feature directorial debut was New Jack City (1991), which he also co-starred in. He has since directed episodes of numerous television series, including Lost (2010), Sons of Anarchy (2008) and Power (2014), and acted in films such as Ali (2001).
