Biography
Mark Ricker is an American production designer and art director. Born on 2 September 1968 in North Carolina, he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later earned an MFA in set design from New York University.
Ricker began his career in the art department, working as a set dresser on The Last of the Mohicans (1992). He received his first major production design credit on John Sayles's Sunshine State (2002) and has since designed sets for films including Julie & Julia (2009), The Help (2011), The Judge (2014), Trumbo (2015), Bombshell (2019) and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (2020).
He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Production Design for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and has received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his television work on Escape at Dannemora, Halston and You Don't Know Jack.
