Biography
Colman Domingo is an American actor, playwright and director. Born on 28 November 1969 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he trained at Temple University and began his career in regional theatre before moving to Broadway. His early stage roles include productions of Well (2005) and Passing Strange (2008). He received a Tony Award nomination for his performance in the musical The Scottsboro Boys (2011) and wrote the book for Summer: The Donna Summer Musical (2018).
Domingo is known for his television roles as Victor Strand in Fear the Walking Dead (2015–2023) and Ali in Euphoria (2019–2026), for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2022. In film he has appeared in Lincoln (2012), The Butler (2013) and Sing Sing (2024), earning consecutive Academy Award nominations for Best Actor for Rustin (2023) and Sing Sing. He is also credited as Joseph Jackson in Michael (2026) and voices The Cowardly Lion in Wicked: For Good (2025). He has directed episodes of Fear the Walking Dead and appears in the series The Four Seasons (2025).
