Biography

Mary Jo Markey is an American television and film editor. She is a member of the American Cinema Editors and has frequently collaborated with director J. J. Abrams and editor Maryann Brandon on both television series and feature films.

Her credits include episodes of Felicity, Alias and Lost (for which she won an Emmy Award for the pilot), and films such as Mission: Impossible III (2006), Star Trek (2009), Super 8 (2011), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015). With Brandon she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing on the latter.
