Biography

Masahiro Hirakubo is a British film editor. He began his career in television, editing series such as Last of the Summer Wine and Swallows and Amazons Forever!, before making his feature debut as editor on Shallow Grave (1994).

He collaborated with director Danny Boyle on Trainspotting (1996), A Life Less Ordinary (1997) and The Beach (2000). Other credits include Ella Enchanted (2004), Eragon (2006), The Duchess (2008), Breathe (2017) and Nowhere Special (2020). He received a BAFTA nomination for his work.
