Biography
Nicola Shindler is a British television producer and executive. She began her career as a script editor on the series Cracker (1993) at Granada Television, later working as assistant producer on Our Friends in the North (1996) and producer on the drama Hillsborough (1996).
In 1998 she founded Red Production Company in Manchester. Its first project was Russell T Davies's Queer as Folk (1999), on which she served as producer. She subsequently produced or executive produced series including Clocking Off, Scott & Bailey, Last Tango in Halifax, Happy Valley, Years and Years and It's a Sin. In 2021 she launched Quay Street Productions.
Shindler was awarded an OBE in 2019 for services to broadcasting and has won multiple BAFTA Television Awards.
