Biography
Peter Lyons Collister is an American cinematographer and second unit director. Born on 9 March 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio, he attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He began his career in the early 1980s as a second-unit director of photography on films including The Blue Lagoon (1980), Summer Lovers (1982) and Blame It on Rio (1984).
Collister has served as cinematographer on numerous features, among them Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988), The Replacement Killers (1998), The Amityville Horror (2005) and the Alvin and the Chipmunks films. He was director of photography on 15 episodes of the television series Arrested Development (2013). A member of the American Society of Cinematographers, he has frequently collaborated with director Michael Bay on second-unit work.
