Biography

Peter Morgan is a British screenwriter and playwright. He was born on 10 April 1963 in London and studied at the University of Leeds.

Morgan is known for his work on historical subjects. His screenplays include The Queen (2006), The Last King of Scotland (2006), Frost/Nixon (2008), The Other Boleyn Girl (2008), The Damned United (2009) and Rush (2013). He created and wrote the Netflix series The Crown (2016–2023).

He has also written stage plays including Frost/Nixon (2006) and The Audience (2013). Morgan has received five BAFTA Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards, and was appointed CBE. In 2017 he was awarded a British Film Institute Fellowship.
