Biography

Raymond J. Barry is an American actor known for work in film, television and theatre. He was born on 14 March 1939 in Hempstead, New York, and studied philosophy at Brown University before training at the Yale School of Drama.

Barry appeared in more than seventy-five stage productions, including Broadway and experimental theatre, before moving into screen roles in the late 1970s. His film credits include Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Falling Down (1993), Dead Man Walking (1995), Training Day (2001) and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007). On television he has appeared in series such as The X-Files, Lost, Justified and 13 Reasons Why. He received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his performance in Steel City.
