Biography
Richard Hornung was an American costume designer. He was born on 16 February 1950 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and died on 30 December 1995 in Los Angeles.
He graduated from Kutztown University and earned a master's degree in costume design from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. After working in New York theatre, including productions at the Juilliard Drama School and on Broadway, he moved into film. His credits include costume design on Raising Arizona (1987), Miller's Crossing (1990), The Grifters (1990), Barton Fink (1991), for which he received an Academy Award nomination, The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) and Natural Born Killers (1994). He frequently collaborated with the Coen brothers and also worked with directors such as Stephen Frears, Paul Schrader and Oliver Stone. He died of AIDS.
