Biography
Richard Pearson is an American film editor. He is credited, sometimes as Rick Pearson, on numerous action and blockbuster films.
Pearson was born in 1961 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and raised in New Hope, Minnesota. As a student he interned at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis before moving to Hollywood in 1985. His first editing credit was the 1998 miniseries From the Earth to the Moon. He later edited Muppets from Space (1999) and two films directed by Frank Oz: Bowfinger (1999) and The Score (2001).
With Clare Douglas and Christopher Rouse, Pearson received the BAFTA Award for Best Editing for United 93 (2006); the editors were also nominated for an Academy Award and an ACE Eddie Award. He is a member of the American Cinema Editors. His credits include The Bourne Supremacy (2004), Iron Man 2 (2010), Maleficent (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Justice League (2017), Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) and Uncharted (2022).
