Biography

Chris Lebenzon is an American film editor. He began working in the industry in the late 1970s and received his first editing credit on Wolfen (1981).

Lebenzon has edited more than 50 films since 1981. His credits include Days of Thunder (1990), Batman Returns (1992), Ed Wood (1994), Top Gun (1986), Crimson Tide (1995), Armageddon (1998), Big Fish (2003), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Alice in Wonderland (2010) and Maleficent (2014). He has had long collaborations with directors Tim Burton, Tony Scott and Michael Bay.

He is a member of the American Cinema Editors. Lebenzon received Academy Award nominations for Best Film Editing for Top Gun and Crimson Tide, and won Eddie Awards for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) and Alice in Wonderland (2010). He has also served as executive producer on Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows (2012).
