Biography
Richard D. Zanuck (also credited as Richard Darryl Zanuck) was an American film producer. The son of studio executive Darryl F. Zanuck, he began his career at 20th Century Fox, where he rose to become the youngest president of a major studio in 1962. He later formed the Zanuck/Brown Company with David Brown.
Their productions included The Sting (1973) and Jaws (1975). Zanuck went on to produce Driving Miss Daisy (1989) with his wife Lili Fini Zanuck; the film won the Academy Award for Best Picture. He produced several films directed by Tim Burton, among them Big Fish (2003), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and Dark Shadows (2012). He died in 2012.
