Biography
Helena Bonham Carter is an English actress. Born on 26 May 1966 in Golders Green, London, she began her screen career in the early 1980s.
She rose to prominence with the role of Lucy Honeychurch in A Room with a View (1985) and the title character in Lady Jane (1986). Subsequent notable performances include Kate Croy in The Wings of the Dove (1997), Marla Singer in Fight Club (1999), Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter series (2007–2011), Queen Elizabeth in The King's Speech (2010), and Babi Winton in One Life (2023).
Bonham Carter won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for The King's Speech and received Academy Award nominations for The Wings of the Dove and The King's Speech. She was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2012.
