Biography

Richard Raynis is an American television producer and animator. He began his career in animation in 1978 as a background illustrator on Ralph Bakshi's The Lord of the Rings, and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a BA in English literature in 1982.

Raynis joined The Simpsons as executive in charge of animation production in its third season and has served as a producer since 1992, contributing to over 700 episodes. He has received multiple Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program for his work on the series. He has also produced on Futurama and King of the Hill, and co-created or developed series including Extreme Ghostbusters, Men in Black: The Series, Godzilla: The Series and Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles.
