Biography
Robert Lorenz (born 1 April 1965) is an American film producer and director. He moved to Los Angeles in 1989 and began working in the film industry, initially as an assistant director on features including The Bridges of Madison County (1995).
He formed a long-term collaboration with Clint Eastwood, serving as first assistant director on several of his films and later as producer on Mystic River (2003), Million Dollar Baby (2004), Flags of Our Fathers (2006), Letters from Iwo Jima (2006), Gran Torino (2008), Invictus (2009) and American Sniper (2014). He received Academy Award nominations for Best Picture for Mystic River, Letters from Iwo Jima and American Sniper.
Lorenz made his directorial debut with Trouble with the Curve (2012). He has since directed and co-written The Marksman (2021) and directed In the Land of Saints and Sinners (2023).
