Biography
Romeo Tirone is an American cinematographer and television director. He began his career in music videos in the 1980s and made his first feature film credit as cinematographer on the 1996 crime drama Lowball. A graduate of St. John's University in New York City, he worked on several independent films including L.I.E. (2001), 12 and Holding (2005) and Cry_Wolf (2005).
Tirone is best known for his work on the series Dexter (2006), where he served as director of photography for sixty episodes between 2006 and 2011 and directed six episodes from 2009 to 2013. He received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Cinematography for a One-Hour Series in 2008. He has also directed episodes of True Blood (2008), Once Upon a Time (2011), Blindspot (2015), Manifest (2018) and other series, and worked as cinematographer on True Blood.
