Biography
Seith Mann (born 1973) is an American film and television director. He graduated from Morehouse College and earned an MFA in film from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. His thesis short film Five Deep Breaths (2003) premiered at Sundance, won a Gold Plaque for Best Narrative Short at the Chicago International Film Festival and other festival awards, and led to an ABC DGA Fellowship.
A producer on The Wire saw the short and invited Mann to shadow directors during season three. He joined the directing staff for season four and made his television debut with the episode "Home Rooms" (2006). He later directed a further episode in season five. Mann has directed episodes of many series including Grey's Anatomy (2006), Fringe, The Walking Dead, Homeland, Dexter and Sons of Anarchy. He received an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Directing in a Drama Series for an episode of Friday Night Lights and further nominations for his work on The Wire and other programmes.
