Biography
Sławomir Idziak is a Polish cinematographer and director. Born on 25 January 1945 in Katowice, he graduated from the National Film School in Łódź in 1969.
He collaborated extensively with Krzysztof Kieślowski, serving as cinematographer on early works as well as A Short Film About Killing (1988), The Double Life of Véronique (1991) and Three Colors: Blue (1993). He has also worked with Krzysztof Zanussi on fourteen films and later on international productions including Gattaca (1997), Proof of Life (2000), Black Hawk Down (2001), King Arthur (2004) and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007).
Idziak was nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA for best cinematography on Black Hawk Down.
