Biography
Sidney Wolinsky is a Canadian-American film editor. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he attended high school in Montreal and Brandeis University in Massachusetts. He earned a master's degree in film from San Francisco State University, worked briefly for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Toronto, and later moved to Los Angeles.
Wolinsky began editing feature films and television in the early 1980s. He is known for his work on the HBO series The Sopranos (1999–2007), for which he received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations and two American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards. He won a Primetime Emmy for editing the pilot episode of Boardwalk Empire (2010).
His other credits include the feature The Shape of Water (2017), for which he was nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for Best Editing, as well as Howard the Duck (1986), Greyhound (2020), and episodes of series such as Sons of Anarchy, House of Cards and The Strain.
