Biography
Steven Berkoff is an English actor, playwright and theatre director. Born Leslie Steven Berks on 3 August 1937 in Stepney, East London, he trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London and at L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris. In 1968 he formed the London Theatre Group and has written, directed and performed numerous stage works, including adaptations of Kafka and his own plays such as East and Decadence.
On screen Berkoff has appeared in films including A Clockwork Orange (1971), Barry Lyndon (1975), Octopussy (1983), Beverly Hills Cop (1984), Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) and The Krays (1990), in which he played George Cornell. He has also acted in television series such as Vikings and Doctor Who.
