Biography
Temuera Derek Morrison is a New Zealand actor. He first gained recognition in his home country for playing Dr Hone Ropata on the soap opera Shortland Street. He trained under the New Zealand Special Performing Arts Training Scheme and made his screen debut as a child in the 1972 film Rangi's Catch.
Morrison received critical acclaim for his role as Jake 'the Muss' Heke in the 1994 film Once Were Warriors and its 1999 sequel What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?. He is known internationally for portraying Jango Fett and clone troopers in the Star Wars films Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005), and for voicing Boba Fett in later projects including The Mandalorian (2019) and The Book of Boba Fett (2021). He voiced Chief Tui in Disney's Moana (2016) and reprised the role in Moana 2 (2024). He played Tom Curry, father of the title character, in the DC films Aquaman (2018), The Flash (2023) and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023).
Morrison was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2019. He has received New Zealand Film Awards for best actor for Once Were Warriors and its sequel.
