Biography
Terry Nation (8 August 1930 – 9 March 1997) was a Welsh screenwriter and novelist. He began his career as a comedy writer for radio and television before moving into drama, contributing scripts to series including The Saint (1962) and The Avengers (1961), for which he also served as script editor on the final series.
Nation is best known for his work on Doctor Who (1963), writing multiple serials between 1963 and 1979 and creating the Daleks. He devised the series Survivors (1975) and Blake's 7 (1978), and later wrote and produced episodes of MacGyver (1985) in the United States. He also contributed to The Persuaders! (1971).
