Biography

Tim Palmer is a British cinematographer and member of the British Society of Cinematographers. He trained at the National Film and Television School and holds a BA in History from the University of California, Berkeley.

His television credits as director of photography include episodes of Life on Mars (2006), Doctor Who (2005), The Last Kingdom (2015), Killing Eve (2018), Line of Duty (2012), Bad Sisters (2022) and Geek Girl (2024). He joined the BSC in 2013 and has received nominations for a BSC Award and an RTS Award for Best Cinematography.

In 2025 he published the book Cinematography and Lighting for Television, drawing on his experience in television drama.
