Biography

Trisha Biggar is a Scottish costume designer born in Glasgow. She has worked in theatre, television and film, and is best known for her designs on the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

From 1997 she headed the costume department at Lucasfilm and created the costumes for Padmé Amidala across Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005). Earlier credits include stage work with the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow and Opera North, and television designs such as The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. She has also designed for Outlander from its fifth season onwards and Outlander: Blood of My Blood (2025).

Biggar received a Saturn Award for Best Costume Design for The Phantom Menace and the Outstanding Contribution for Craft Award at the Scottish BAFTAs in 2012. She is the author of Dressing a Galaxy: The Costumes of Star Wars (2005) and is the sister-in-law of actor Ron Donachie.
