Biography
Whitney Ransick is an American television and film director, producer and writer. A 1987 graduate of Purchase College, he was a founding member of the New York independent film studio The Shooting Gallery.
Ransick directed episodes of Homicide: Life on the Street (1994–1995), ER (1996), Nash Bridges, Martial Law, Smallville (2005–2008) and Supernatural (2006), among more than forty hours of episodic television. His feature directorial debut was the 1994 film Hand Gun, for which he also wrote the screenplay and served as editor; he later directed the documentary Misfire: The Rise and Fall of the Shooting Gallery (2013). He is a member of the Directors Guild of America.
