Biography
Angelo Badalamenti was an American composer. He studied at the Eastman School of Music and earned a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music. Early in his career he worked under the name Andy Badale as a songwriter and composer for film and television.
He is best known for his long collaboration with director David Lynch. Badalamenti composed the scores for Blue Velvet (1986), Twin Peaks (1990), Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992), Wild at Heart (1990), Lost Highway (1997), The Straight Story (1999) and Mulholland Drive (2001). He also scored A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989).
Badalamenti received the 1990 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for the Twin Peaks theme. He died on 11 December 2022.
