Biography
Charlotte Sieling (also credited as Charlotte Seiling) is a Danish actress and director. Born in Copenhagen in 1960, she trained as an actress at the Danish National School of Theatre, graduating in 1985, and worked in theatre and on screen before studying screenwriting at the National Film School of Denmark.
She began directing television in the late 1990s and 2000s, contributing episodes to Danish series including Unit One, The Killing and Borgen. Her work on The Bridge led to opportunities in the United States, where she has directed episodes of Homeland (2011) and The Americans (2013), as well as White Collar, The Strain and others.
Sieling made her feature debut as director with Above the Street, Below the Water (2009) and has since directed The Man (2017) and Margrete: Queen of the North (2021).
