Biography
Dario Marianelli is an Italian composer of film, concert, theatre and ballet music. Born in Pisa, he studied piano and composition in Florence before moving to London in 1990. He completed postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and graduated from the National Film and Television School in 1997.
He is known for his scores for films including Pride & Prejudice (2005), Atonement (2007), Anna Karenina (2012) and Darkest Hour (2017), several in collaboration with director Joe Wright. Marianelli won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Original Score for Atonement. His more recent work includes Paddington 2 (2017), Bumblebee (2018), Paddington in Peru (2024) and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024).
