Biography
Gary Lewis, also credited as Gary Stevenson, is a Scottish actor. He began his career in theatre, joining Robert Carlyle's Raindog Theatre company in the early 1990s after earlier work with companies such as 7:84.
Lewis is known for film roles including Jackie Elliot in Billy Elliot (2000), for which he received a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, McGloin in Gangs of New York (2002), Hrothgar in Eragon (2006), and Emperor Dro'ge in The Marvels (2023). On television he has appeared as Colum MacKenzie in Outlander and in series including His Dark Materials and Vigil.
