Biography
Hugh Laurie is an English actor, comedian and musician. Born James Hugh Calum Laurie on 11 June 1959 in Oxford, he was educated at Eton College and Selwyn College, Cambridge. While at Cambridge he joined the Footlights dramatic club, where he met Emma Thompson and was introduced to Stephen Fry; the pair formed the comedy double act Fry and Laurie.
Laurie is known for his role as Dr Gregory House in the medical drama series House (2004–2012). He played arms dealer Richard Roper in the series The Night Manager (2016). Other credits include voice work in Stuart Little (1999) and appearances in 101 Dalmatians (1996) and The Man in the Iron Mask (1998).
