Biography
Jeff Cronenweth, ASC is an American cinematographer. Born in Los Angeles on 14 January 1962, he is the son of cinematographer Jordan Cronenweth. He studied at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
He began his career in music videos and as a camera assistant before becoming director of photography on David Fincher’s Fight Club (1999). He collaborated with Fincher again on The Social Network (2010), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) and Gone Girl (2014); the first two of these earned Academy Award nominations for Best Cinematography. Other feature credits include One Hour Photo (2002), K-19: The Widowmaker (2002), Hitchcock (2012) and Being the Ricardos (2021). He was invited to join the cinematographers branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2004.
Cronenweth served as cinematographer on TRON: Ares (2025).
