Biography
Scott Rudin (born 14 July 1958) is an American film, television and theatre producer. He began working in theatre as a teenager, assisting producers including Kermit Bloomgarden, and later worked as a casting director before moving to Los Angeles in 1980. He produced early films such as I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can (1982) and Mrs. Soffel (1984), and became president of production at 20th Century Fox at the age of 29.
Rudin has produced numerous films including The Addams Family (1991), Clueless (1995), The Truman Show (1998), No Country for Old Men (2007), The Social Network (2010), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), Lady Bird (2017) and eight films directed by Wes Anderson. He has also produced extensively for Broadway, winning multiple Tony Awards, and is one of the few people to achieve EGOT status.
In 2021, following reports of abusive behaviour towards employees, Rudin stepped back from projects. He returned to Broadway producing in 2025.
