Biography
Michelle Monaghan is an American actress. Born on 23 March 1976 in Winthrop, Iowa, she studied journalism at Columbia College Chicago and worked as a model before moving to New York to pursue acting.
She made her television debut in Young Americans (2000) and appeared in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2001) and Boston Public (2002–2003). Her early film roles included Perfume (2001) and Unfaithful (2002). She gained wider recognition for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) and Mission: Impossible III (2006), in which she played Julia Meade, a role she reprised in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011) and Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018). Other credits include Gone Baby Gone (2007), Source Code (2011) and True Detective (2014), for which she received a Golden Globe nomination.
In 2024 she appeared as Detective Williams in MaXXXine.
