Biography
Miguel Sapochnik is an English film and television director and former storyboard artist. Born in Hammersmith, London, he began his career as a storyboard artist on films including Trainspotting (1996) and The Winter Guest (1997).
His feature directorial debut was the science fiction film Repo Men (2010). Sapochnik has directed episodes of numerous American television series, including House (2004), Fringe (2008), Masters of Sex (2013), True Detective (2014) and Game of Thrones (2011). For his work on the latter, he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series and a Directors Guild of America Award.
He later directed the feature Finch (2021) and served as co-showrunner and director on the first season of House of the Dragon (2022).
