Biography

Nicholas Woodeson is an English actor known for his work in film, television and theatre. He was born on 30 November 1949 in Port Sudan, Sudan, and grew up in Haifa, Israel. He studied English at the University of Sussex and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (1972–74).

Woodeson joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1982 and remained with them for seven years. His stage credits include Broadway productions such as Piaf (1981) and An Inspector Calls (1995), as well as work at the National Theatre. On screen he is known for roles including Posca in the series Rome (2005), Doctor Hall in the film Skyfall (2012), Dalton in John Carter (2012), Dr Buson in The Danish Girl (2015) and the Insurance Company CEO in Paddington 2 (2017). He is a Drama Desk and Olivier Award nominee.
