Biography

Norman Garwood (8 January 1946 – 13 April 2019) was an English production designer and art director. He worked on numerous films from the 1980s onwards, including Time Bandits (1981), Brazil (1985), The Princess Bride (1987), Glory (1989), Misery (1990), Hook (1991), Lost in Space (1998) and Ella Enchanted (2004).

Garwood received three Academy Award nominations for Best Art Direction, for Brazil (1985), Glory (1989) and Hook (1991). He won a BAFTA Award for Best Production Design and an Evening Standard British Film Award for his work on Brazil.
