Biography
Peter Jason (born Peter Edward Ostling) was an American character actor. Born on 22 July 1944 in Hollywood, California, he trained at Orange Coast College and Carnegie Mellon University before beginning his career in the late 1960s.
He appeared in more than 250 film and television roles. Jason was a frequent collaborator with directors Walter Hill (nine films) and John Carpenter (seven films). He is known for roles including the Soccer Coach in The Karate Kid (1984), Gilbert in They Live (1988), Con Stapleton in the series Deadwood (2004–06, 2019), the Defense Attorney in Adaptation. (2002), Senator Sherwood in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), and Norman Gates in Dante's Peak (1997). He died on 20 February 2025 in West Hollywood, California, aged 80.
