Biography
Ralph Winter is an American film producer. Born Ralph Frederick Winter on 24 April 1952 in Glendale, California, he studied history at the University of California, Berkeley.
He began his career in television at Paramount Pictures in 1978, working on series including Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy. He later collaborated with Harve Bennett on the Star Trek films, serving as associate producer on Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984), executive producer on Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) and Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989), and producer on Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991).
Winter has produced or executive produced films including the X-Men series (2000–2009), Fantastic Four (2005), Planet of the Apes (2001) and Hocus Pocus (1993). He is a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
