Biography
René Echevarria is an American screenwriter and television producer of Cuban-American background. He graduated with a degree in history from Duke University in 1984 and began his career in theatre in New York before submitting a spec script to Star Trek: The Next Generation.
His first credited episode for the series was 'The Offspring'. He went on to write numerous episodes across Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, later serving as co-supervising producer on the latter. Echevarria created the series The 4400 and Carnival Row, and was showrunner on Terra Nova. He has also written for Castle, Dark Angel and Medium.
