Biography
Robert Leighton is a British film and television editor. He trained at the London Film School and began his career working for the BBC before moving to the United States in 1975.
Leighton has more than 30 feature film credits since 1980. He has edited nearly all the films directed by Rob Reiner, beginning with This Is Spinal Tap (1984), and has also worked with Christopher Guest on three films. His credits include Stand by Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally... (1989), Misery (1990) and A Few Good Men (1992). He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing for the latter.
Leighton is married to editor Maryann Brandon.
