Biography
Sam Miller (born 28 September 1962) is a British television and film director and former actor from Saxmundham, England.
As an actor he appeared as Sgt. John Maitland in the ITV series The Bill (1990–1993). He began directing in the mid-1990s on BBC dramas including Cardiac Arrest and This Life, and has since directed episodes of Luther (2010–2015), Black Mirror (2023), Snowpiercer (2020) and I May Destroy You (2020).
Miller has received three Primetime Emmy nominations for directing, including for Luther (2012) and two for I May Destroy You (2021), and won a BAFTA Television Craft Award for directing fiction on the latter. He is the father of actor William Miller.
