Biography

Sandra Adair is an American film editor. She is also credited as Sandra Estrin. Since 1993 she has edited more than twenty feature films directed by Richard Linklater, beginning with Dazed and Confused (1993) and including Before Sunrise (1995), School of Rock (2003), Boyhood (2014) and Hit Man (2024).

Adair was born Sandra B. Estrin in Carlsbad, New Mexico, in 1952. Early in her career she worked as an assistant editor to her brother, Robert Estrin. She moved to Austin, Texas, in 1991 and has edited most of Linklater’s films there. She received an Academy Award nomination and an ACE Eddie Award for her work on Boyhood.
