Biography
Sidney Cutner was a composer and orchestrator. He was born on 16 April 1903 in Mariupol, then part of the Russian Empire, and died on 20 September 1971 in Los Angeles, California.
Cutner worked extensively in Hollywood from the 1930s to the 1970s, providing orchestrations and additional music for nearly 400 productions. He received original music credits on films including Holiday (1938), His Girl Friday (1940), The Face Behind the Mask (1941), Texas (1941) and My Sister Eileen (1942). His orchestration work includes Sunset Boulevard (1950), Ace in the Hole (1951), Shane (1953), Rio Bravo (1959) and Around the World in 80 Days (1956). He also composed for television series such as The F.B.I. and The Invaders.
