Biography
Stephan Pehrsson is a Danish cinematographer. Born on 10 November 1975 in Hillerød, Denmark, he trained at the European Film College from 1996 to 1997 before attending the National Film and Television School in the UK, where he completed an MA in Cinematography in 2003.
He began his career in the UK television industry as a camera operator before becoming a director of photography on series including The Bill, Dream Team, Holby City and Bad Girls. His credits include Doctor Who (2005), Luther (2010), Black Mirror (2011), Inside No. 9 (2014), Humans (2015), Wednesday (2022) and MobLand (2025). He is a member of the British Society of Cinematographers.
Pehrsson won the BAFTA Television Craft Award for Photography & Lighting: Fiction for the Black Mirror episode "Demon 79" and received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Cinematography for a Limited Series or Movie for the episode "USS Callister".
