Biography
Stephen Dillane is a British actor. He trained at the University of Exeter and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and began his career on stage before moving into film and television.
He is known for his stage work, including a Tony Award-winning performance in Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing (2000). On screen, his credits include Leonard Woolf in The Hours (2002), Stannis Baratheon in Game of Thrones (2011–2015), Viscount Halifax in Darkest Hour (2017), and Andrew in The Outrun (2024). He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for portraying Thomas Jefferson in the miniseries John Adams (2008).
Dillane has also appeared in Spy Game (2001), Zero Dark Thirty (2012), The Crown (2016), Outlaw King (2018) and The Professor and the Madman (2019).
