Biography
Teizô Toshimitsu (利光 貞三) was a Japanese sculptor, monster modeller and special effects artist. He first worked with Toho on The War at Sea from Hawaii to Malaya (1942) and went on to pioneer the creation of kaiju suits for Godzilla (1954), later becoming chief modeller specialising in faces and maquettes.
Toshimitsu contributed to every Toho kaiju film from 1954 to 1970. His credits include suit design or modelling on Godzilla Raids Again (1955), King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962), Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964), Son of Godzilla (1967) and All Monsters Attack (1969). After leaving Toho in 1971 he worked freelance, designing monsters for series such as Return of Ultraman (1971–1972).
