Biography

Terence Marsh was a British production designer and art director. He began his career in the 1950s as a draughtsman at Rank Studios and worked as assistant art director on Lawrence of Arabia (1962).

Marsh shared Academy Awards for art direction on Doctor Zhivago (1965) and Oliver! (1968). He received further Academy Award nominations for Scrooge (1970) and Mary, Queen of Scots (1971), and BAFTA nominations including for The Hunt for Red October (1990). His later credits as production designer include Basic Instinct (1992), The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Clear and Present Danger (1994), The Green Mile (1999) and Rush Hour 2 (2001). He received the Art Directors Guild lifetime achievement award in 2010.
